You’ll be Thankful for your Escrow Agent this Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is just around the corner – and you know what that means! Sure, it means you’re loading up on turkeys, stuffing, cranberries, canned pumpkin, and so much more in preparation for an incredible Thanksgiving feast. But it also means – hopefully – that you’re assembling a gratitude list. What are you most grateful for this year? This holiday is a great one for counting your blessings and preparing mentally for another wonderful year ahead. No matter how challenging and difficult this year has been for you, there’s always something to be grateful for. Perhaps it’s as simple as having enough food to eat and clothes to keep you warm. Maybe you’re grateful for a job that has helped you stay on top of your bills, or special loved ones who have made each day easier and more fun. Whatever the case may be, we hope you remember to give thanks this Thanksgiving.

Buying or selling?

Are you thinking about buying or selling a home in the near future? If so, then you’re going to need an escrow agent that you can really trust. You don’t have to look far, though – just turn to Neighborhood Escrow. We have been serving South Bay with impeccable escrow services since 1985. What does an escrow agent do?

If this is your first time buying or selling a home, you may be curious about what an escrow agent does, and why it’s so important to work with one when conducting a real estate transaction. During the escrow process, the agent holds onto money and documents on behalf of all parties involved in a real estate transaction. These parties typically include the buyer, seller, lender, and borrower. The agent is responsible for making sure all instructions provided by each party are followed and all the requirements described in the Residential Purchase Agreement and Joint Escrow Instructions are met before closing. You’ll get tremendous peace of mind when working with an escrow agent from Neighborhood Escrow. We have the experience and expertise to meet every escrow need throughout the process.

Who pays escrow fees?

There are various fees involved when working with an escrow agent – the document transfer tax, recording of the grant deed, title insurance, inspection fees, notary fees, and more. These fees may be paid by either the seller or buyer (or sometimes even the lender, depending on the circumstances) according to the traditions and practices in the local area and on the preferences of the involved parties. In most cases, the buyer and seller split the escrow company’s fees 50/50.

We look forward to working with you! Give us a call at 310-378-2456 to get started today. Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at Neighborhood Escrow.
